Dr. Glenn Corbin is widely respected for his patience, compassion, and high level of detail in caring for his patients. Known for clear communication and a collaborative treatment approach, he empowers patients to play an active role in their eye health. Through his leadership, Dr. Corbin has fostered a practice culture that embraces the latest advances in medical eye care and technology, attracting patients from across a broad region for his clinical expertise.
Dr. Corbin earned his B.A. in Biology from Hofstra University and completed his B.S. in Visual Science and Doctor of Optometry degree at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. He has been in practice for over 40 years and continues to be deeply involved in both clinical care and professional education.
He currently serves as Chief of the Section of Optometry at Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center and is on the Allied Health Medical Staff, where he provides inpatient consults and Emergency Department eye care. Dr. Corbin also serves as a Consulting Staff member at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Reading.
In practice, Dr. Corbin enjoys comprehensive primary eye care with special interests in glaucoma management and ocular surface disease, including infection, allergy, inflammation, and dry eye. He also serves as a Principal Investigator for numerous FDA clinical trials evaluating new medications, diagnostics, and devices.
Dr. Corbin is a recognized educator and mentor. Over the course of his career, he has trained approximately 300 student interns from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University and the Illinois College of Optometry, several of whom have become faculty members or partners in practice. In 2023, he received the Presidential Medal of Honor from Salus University—one of the institution’s highest distinctions—for his contributions to optometry as a clinician, mentor, and leader.
His professional honors include the 2014 Albert Fitch Memorial Alumnus of the Year Award from Salus University’s Alumni Association and dual “Optometrist of the Year” awards from the Pennsylvania Optometric Association and the Berks County Optometric Society in 2015. He is also an Associate Professor of Optometry on the adjunct faculty of both the Illinois College of Optometry and the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Drexel University. Dr. Corbin serves as a member of the Scientific & Business Strategy Advisory Board for Xenon Ophthalmics and is a KOL for Ocubio.
Dr. Corbin is actively engaged in community service. He is a founding member and board member of the Exeter Community Education Foundation, and serves on the Penn State Health St. Joseph Foundation Board of Directors. He is also a founding Board member of the “Friends of the Exeter Township Police Department”.
Over the years, Dr. Corbin has played a pivotal role in building Wyomissing Optometric Center into a thriving practice with multiple locations and a large professional team. He remains deeply grateful for the trust of the thousands of loyal patients he has served throughout his career.
Outside of work, Dr. Corbin enjoys spending time with family and enjoys boating at Raystown Lake.
