Our on-call doctors will always return your phone call and are prepared to meet you at one of our offices or we have privileges at
Penn State Health St. Joseph Emergency Department if immediate care is needed. We also provide inpatient consultations at
Penn State Health St. Joseph upon request from hospital physicians.
When to Call Us Immediately
Please contact us right away if you experience any of the following:
- Eye pain or severe discomfort
- Red or swollen eye suggesting infection
- Metal fragments, wood, or other foreign objects in the eye
- Chemical exposure or splash injuries
- Allergic eye reactions with sudden swelling, itching, or discharge
- Sports-related or traumatic eye injuries
- Sudden vision loss or blurriness in one or both eyes
- Flashes of light, new floaters, or a shadow/curtain in your vision (possible retinal emergency)
- Anything that doesn’t feel right with your eyes and you believe requires urgent medical attention
