Perry C. Umlauf, O.D.

Dr. Umlauf earned a B.A. in Biology from University of Maryland and a B.S. in Visual Science and Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia. He did a hospital based primary eye care residency at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Lebanon, PA. He serves on the Allied Health Medical Staff at Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center (inpatient consults and Emergency Room eye care) in Reading.

Dr. Umlauf enjoys primary eye care with special interest in glaucoma and management of ocular diseases. He is recognized for his expertise and experience in prescribing specialty contact lenses for keratoconus and other corneal diseases. In 2009, Dr. Umlauf was recognized by his peers by being awarded the state’s highest honor, the Pennsylvania “Optometrist of the Year”. He is passionate about providing the highest quality patient care and will be seeing patients in our Wyomissing and Myerstown offices.

Dr. Umlauf is no stranger to Lebanon County, having practiced with Dr. Albert Alley (ophthalmologist) in Lebanon for 21 years. His community service includes participating in third world vision missions for World Blindness Outreach and vision screenings for the Lebanon Lions Club. Dr. Umlauf is recognized for his lectures and has authored several professional journal articles.
